MEASUREMENTS WHILE POWER IS APPLIED TO THE MACHINE. EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AT ALL
TIMES. IF TEST POINTS ARE NOT EASILY ACCESSIBLE, DISCONNECT POWER, ATTACH TEST
EQUIPMENT AND REAPPLY POWER TO TEST.

BOILER

Inspection
It is recommended the boiler be i nspected for
excessive lime scale bui ld up in a time fram e
dependant on the quality of the local water supply
and steamer usage. In hard water areas or for
steamers heavily used, a frequent i nterval should be
used. This inspection consists of an internal
examination and cleaning of the boiler, an
examination of the t wo hanging descal ers, and for
lime build up on the water lev el probes. Also, a
check of all boiler contr ol s, including the pressure
switches.
Periodic service must be perf ormed as outlined in
these procedures. See WATER CONDITIO NING
under GENERAL.
Clean-Out
1. Turn power switch OFF.
A. Boiler should automaticall y start
blowdown/drain cycle.
2. Remov e t he burner assembly and heat
exchanger as outlined under "HEAT
EXCHANGER" in "REMOVAL AND
REPLACEMENT OF PARTS".
NOTE: Access to the interior of the boiler through
the hand hole cover is very l imited on this model
and is recommended to be remov ed f or deliming
purposes only.

the washout drain.
B. Remove all loose scale f or m the heat
exchanger.
C. Clean the m ating surfaces of the heat
exchanger and boiler.
5. Check probe housing and water lev el probes
for scale build up and clean as necessary.
Refer to "WATER LEVEL CONTROLS TEST".
6. Check the drain l i ne exiting the boiler f or
obstructions.
A. Remove the strainer clean out pl ug, turn
the steamer on and allow the boiler "f ill
water" to flush-out the drain li ne. Turn the

under "DESCALER (Cathodic Protector)" i n this
section, and replace if necessary.
8. Install a new gasket and replac e t he burner
assembly and heat exchanger by reversing t he
removal procedure from step 2.
9. Delime t he boiler as outlined under
"DELIMING" in this section.
Deliming
Boiler deliming should be perf ormed in a time fr am e
dependant on the quality of the local water supply
and steamer usage. In hard water areas or for
steamers heavily used, a frequent i nterval should be
used. See WATER CONDITIONING under
GENERAL.
On steamers using a water treatment system, f ollow
the instructions for that system t o delime the boiler.
Only use the type of chemical recommended or
described in the instructions for del iming with this
type of system.
If a water treatment system is not used, f ollow the
instructions for delimi ng the boiler as outlined in the
steps below.
1. Turn power switch OFF.
