Using multi-zone configuration

Operate the following operations after activating the Zone 2 operation mode.

Operating Zone 2

Rotate the IINPUT selector to select the desired input source while the ZONE2 indicator is flashing in the front panel display.

•Select “TUNER” as the input source to use the TUNER features in Zone 2. For details about the TUNER operations, see “FM/AM tuning” on page 50.

•Select “XM” as the input source to use the XM Satellite Radio features in Zone 2. For details about the XM Satellite Radio operations, see “XM Satellite Radio tuning” on page 53.

•Select “V-AUX” as the input source to use iPod features in Zone 2. For details about the iPod operations, see “Using iPod™” on page 58.

■Controlling Zone 2 with the remote control

Turning on Zone 2

Press and hold HPOWER or GSTANDBY and then press A to set the remote control to the Zone 2 mode.

•Press HPOWER when the main zone is turned on.

•Press GSTANDBY when the main zone is turned off.

The VTRANSMIT indicator on the remote control lights up while the remote control is set to the Zone 2 mode.

Set Zone 2 to the standby mode

Press 8ZONE 2 ON/OFF to set Zone 2 to the standby mode.

■Setting the remote control to the Zone 2

mode

The remote control is originally set to the main mode to control the main zone. To control Zone 2 with the remote control, you must first set the remote control to the Zone 2 mode.

a similar object.

The VTRANSMIT indicator on the remote control flashes twice.

•When the remote control is set to the Zone 2 mode,

HPOWER, GSTANDBY, JVOLUME +/–,LMUTE, and the input selector buttons are set to control Zone 2. However, the rest of the remote control buttons remain in the main mode.

•The remote control automatically exits from the Zone 2 mode in the following cases:

–when you do not make any operations within 10 seconds after the remote control is set to the Zone 2 mode.

–when you press a remote control button other than

HPOWER, GSTANDBY, JVOLUME +/–,LMUTE, the FSCENE buttons and the input selector buttons.

Activating the Zone 2 operation mode

Press HPOWER to turn on Zone 2.

Operating Zone 2

Press one of the input selector buttons (A) to select the desired input source of Zone 2.

Setting Zone 2 to the standby mode

Press GSTANDBY to set Zone 2 to the standby mode.
