a. Remove the carburetor assembly.
b. Check the needle valve seat and needle
valve.
c. If either is worn, replace them as a set.
d. If both are fine, adjust the float level by slight-
ly bending the float tang 1.
e. Install the carburetor assembly.
f. Measure the fuel level again.
g. Repeat steps (a) to (f) until the fuel level is
within specification.

CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE THROTTLE
POSITION SENSOR
SBefore adjusting the throttle position sensor,
the engine idling speed should be properly ad-
justed.
SWhen installing the throttle position sensor,
adjust its angle according to the r /min which
are displayed on the tachometer.
Refer to the adjustment procedure below.
1. Check:
Sthrottle position sensor
a. Disconnect the throttle position sensor cou-
pler.
b. Remove the throttle position sensor from the
carburetor.
c. Connect the pocket tester (Ω 1k) to the
throttle position sensor.
Tester positive lead Blue terminal
Tester negative lead
Black/Blue terminal
d. Check the throttle position sensor maximum
resistance.
Out of specification Replace the throttle
position sensor.
Throttle position sensor
maximum resistance
4.0 X 6.0 kΩ at 20_C (68_F)
(Blue – Black/Blue)
e. Install the throttle position sensor onto the
carburetor.
f. Connect the pocket tester (Ω 1k) to the
throttle position sensor.
Tester positive lead Yellow
Tester negative lead Black/Blue
g. While slowly opening the throttle, check that
the throttle position sensor resistance is
within the specified range.
