15.2.1 Alerts

Alerts are reports on events, such as attacks, that you may want to know about right away. You can choose to generate an alert when an attack is detected in the Attack Alert screen (Figure 15-2 - check the Generate alert when attack detected checkbox) or when a rule is matched in the Rule Config screen (see Figure

16-4).When an event generates an alert, a message is immediately sent to an e-mail account specified by you. Enter the complete e-mail address to which alert messages will be sent in the E-mail Alerts To field and schedule times for sending alerts in the Log Timer fields in the E-mailscreen (following screen).
