Key Management

Choose WPA2-PSKin this field.

Protocol

WPA Compatible

Check this box if you want your G-1000 to support WPA2-PSK and WPA-PSK at

the same time. This might reduce the performance of the device, however.

Pre-Shared Key

The encryption mechanisms used for WPA2 and WPA2-PSKare the same. The

only difference between the two is that WPA2-PSKuses a simple common

password, instead of user-specific credentials.

Type a pre-shared key from 8 to 63 case-sensitive ASCII characters (including

spaces and symbols).

WPA Group Key

The WPA Group Key Update Timer is the rate at which the AP (if using WPA2-

Update Timer

PSK key management) or RADIUS server (if using WPA2 key management)

sends a new group key out to all clients. The re-keying process is the WPA2

equivalent of automatically changing the WEP key for an AP and all stations in a

WLAN on a periodic basis. Setting of the WPA Group Key Update Timer is also

supported in WPA2-PSK mode. The G-1000 default is 1800 seconds (30 minutes).

Apply

Click Apply to save your changes back to the G-1000.

Reset

6.8 Configuring RADIUS

A RADIUS (Remote Authentication Dial In user Service) server enables user authentication, authorization and accounting. Use RADIUS if you want to authenticate users using an external server.

The RADIUS screen allows you to specify the authentication and accounting servers and to enable and disable them.
