Overall print quality is poor

Clean, calibrate, or replace cartridges.

Make sure the printer is positioned on level ground.

Use a higher quality print mode.

Be sure the media tension bar is inserted on the media as shown in the Quick Start Guide.

If you are using banner vinyl, be sure to insert the spacer bar into the media guides and run the media over the spacer bar.

Be sure that the platen temperature and IR lamp settings are correct for the media you are using.

Be sure you are using genuine ENCAD AV inks.

Blot the nozzle plate and nozzles with a wet lint-free cloth after every 50 ml of printing. This will help assure good quality printing and lengthen the cartridge life. Dry blot with a lint-free cloth and make sure ink comes out. Run the prime pattern.

Streak marks

Clean the service station daily, or more often, depending on the number of prints you are running. (See the Maintenance Guide.)

Clean, calibrate, or replace cartridges.

Ink is not cured properly

If the IR bulb has more than 1000 hours of printing, it may need to be replaced. (See the QUick Start GUide.)

Colors print as monochrome

Be sure the print mode mode is set correctly. To change a specific drawing from mono- chrome to color or vice versa, you must switch the print mode setting and re-transmit the file.

Ink smears after removing the print

Besure that the platen heat and cure temperature are set correctly. It may be necessary to adjust the temperature depending on the ambient temperature in the room where the printer is used. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for details.
