Performing a Default Installation
Entering the System Name, Date, and Time
After you select the type of installation, the following messages display:
##Please enter a System Name for this system.
##This will set the node name and the system name.
##This name will be used for uucp(1) and networking. Enter System name: >
1. Enter a system name.
After you enter the system name, a message similar to following displays.
Current date and time is:
Fri Jan 13 13:11:31 EST 1995
Do you wish to change it y/(n) [default = n] >
Note: Verify the date is correct. If you install the software with an incorrect date, installation may not complete successfully and may terminate.
2.If the current date and time is not correct, type y and enter the new date when you are requested to do so.
If the current date and time is correct, press Enter.
Selecting the Install Media Device
After you set the date and time, a series of messages displays.
1.If your system has more than one type of installation device, a message similar to the following displays. Go to Step 2.
These are the Install Media drives equipped in the system.
1:SCSI
2:SCSI Tape Drive
Type the number of the Install Media device that you are using, and press ENTER
2.Type the number of the Install Media device that you are using, and press Enter. A message similar to the following displays.
Please insert the Unix System V Release 4.0 Installation media into the tape drive,
/dev/rmt/c100t3d0s0 and press ENTER
