NOTICE: To prevent damage to the computer, do not use tools to spread the inner metal tabs of the socket when you are installing or removing a memory module.

6If you are replacing a memory module, you must remove the existing module:

a Use your fingernails to carefully spread apart the inner metal tabs of the memory module socket.

The module should pop up.

bLift the memory module away from the socket.

HINT: If the memory module is not installed properly, the computer will not boot. No error message indicates this failure.

62Adding Parts

7Install the memory module:

a Align the notch in the module with the slot in the center of the socket.

b Slide the edge of the module firmly into the socket and rotate the module down until you hear a click.
