TRANSMIT ERROR

LA transmission error occurred. Try again.

L If you send a fax overseas, try the following:

Use the overseas transmission mode (feature #23 on page 61).

Add 2 pauses at the end of the telephone number or dial manually.

LThe unit is too hot. Let the unit cool down.

9.2.2 Handset

LThere is no space to store new items in navigator directory. Erase unnecessary items (page 35).

No link to base Place on cradle and try again.

LThe handset has lost communication with the

base unit. Walk closer to the base unit, and try again.

LPlace the handset on the base unit and try again.

LThe power cord is disconnected. Plug in the power cord.

LRaise the base unit antenna.

L{e}, {v}, {FLASH}, {CALL WAIT/PLAYBACK}, {CLEAR}, {HOLD} or

{INTERCOM} was pressed while the base unit was in use.

Please lift up and try again.

LA button was pressed while the handset was on the base unit. Lift the handset and press the button again.

Save error

LWhile programming, the handset has lost communication with the base unit. Move closer to the base unit.

9.3When a function does not work, check here

9.3.1 Initial settings

I cannot hear a dial tone.

LIf you used a splitter to connect the unit, remove the splitter and connect the unit to the wall jack directly. If the unit operates properly,

check the splitter.

LDisconnect the unit from the telephone line and connect the line to a known working telephone. If the working telephone operates properly, contact our service personnel to have the unit repaired. If the working

telephone does not operate properly, contact your telephone company.

LThe power cord or telephone line cord is not

connected. Check the connections.

LIf you connected the fax machine through a computer modem, connect the fax machine directly to a telephone line jack.

I cannot make calls.

LThe dialing mode setting is wrong. Change the setting (feature #13 on page 61).

The unit does not ring.

LThe ringer volume is turned OFF. Adjust it (page 25, 26).

LThe ring setting in TAM/FAX mode (feature #06) is set to “RINGER OFF”. Change to another ring setting (page 61).

9.3.2 General

The unit displays “CHECK PAPER” though the paper is inserted.

LThe paper is inserted halfway. Insert it correctly (page 14) and press {START} to clear the message.
