7.4 Operating from a remote location

You can call your unit from a remote location and access the answering device.

Important:

LProgram the remote operation ID beforehand (feature #11, page 47). L Set the unit to TAD/FAX mode before going out (page 32).

L Use a touch tone telephone for remote operations.

Helpful hints:

LWhen you press a key, press firmly.

LPlease make a copy of the following table, and carry it with you when you go out.

7.4.1Listening to recorded messages

1Call your unit.

2Enter the remote operation ID during the TAD/FAX greeting message.

3Start remote operations.

When there are new recorded messages

1.A long beep will sound.

2.Short beep(s) will sound up to 8 times. L This indicates the number of new

messages.

3.New messages will be played back.

When there are no new messages

1.A long beep will sound (short beep will not sound).

2.Wait for 4 seconds or press {5}.

3.All the recorded messages will be played back.

When voice memory is full

6 beeps will sound after playing back the messages. Erase unnecessary messages.

7.4.2Remote operations using the remote command key

{1}: repeats a message. If you press this key within 5 seconds of the beginning of a message, the previous message will be played.

{2}: skips a message.

{4}: plays back only the new messages.

{5}: plays back all the messages.

Note:

LIf you do not enter a remote command key within 10 seconds after the last operation, the
