5Open the recording paper feeder cover (1).

6Clean the recording paper feeder roller (1) with a cloth moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let all parts dry thoroughly.

Caution:

L Do not use paper products, such as paper towels or tissues.

8.7Document feeder/scanner glass cleaning

Clean the document feeder/scanner glass when:

Documents frequently misfeed.

Smudges or black/white lines appear on the original document when transmitting or copying.

1Disconnect the power cord and the telephone line cord.

2Open the front cover by pulling up the centre part.

7Close the covers (see steps 8 and 9 on page 47).

8Install the paper tray (page 11), then insert the recording paper (page 11).

9Connect the power cord and the telephone line cord.

3Clean the document feeder rollers (1) and rubber flap (2) with a cloth moistened with isopropyl rubbing alcohol, and let all parts dry thoroughly. Clean the scanner glass (3) and white plate opposite the scanner glass (4) with a soft, dry cloth.
