Changing the VFP Setting

The VFP (Video Fine Processor) function enables you to adjust the picture based on the picture tone, or personal preference.

Before using the remote control, press DVD so that the remote control works for the DVD player.

There is a time limit in doing the following steps. If the setting is canceled before you finish, start from step 1 again.

& During playback

1Press VFP.

The current VFP setting screen appears on the TV.

BRIGHTNESS +0

CONTRAST +0

SATURATION +0

TINT+0

SHARPNESS +3

Y DELAY +0

Ex.: When “NORMAL” is selected

2Press cursor 3 (or 2) repeatedly to select the VFP mode.

Each time you press the button, the VFP mode changes as follows.

NORMAL CINEMA USER1 USER2

(back to the beginning)

NORMAL

Normally select this.

CINEMA

Suitable for a movie source.

 

 

USER1/USER2

You can adjust parameters that

 

affect the appearance of picture

 

and store the settings (see the right

 

column).

 

 

To turn off the VFP setting screen

Press VFP.

To adjust the appearance of the picture

You can adjust the appearance of picture and store in “USER1” and “USER2.”

1Press VFP, then press cursor 3 (or 2) repeatedly to select “USER1” or “USER2.”

BRIGHTNESS +0

CONTRAST +0

SATURATION +0

TINT+0

SHARPNESS +3

Y DELAY +0

2Press cursor (or 5) repeatedly to select a parameter you want to adjust.

Adjust the parameters so that the picture you are viewing appears as you prefer.

GAMMA

Adjust if the neutral color is bright or

 

dark. The brightness of dark and bright

 

portions is maintained.

 

Available range: –4 (darkest) to +4

 

(brightest)

 

 

BRIGHTNESS

Adjust if the picture is bright or dark on

 

the whole.

 

Available range: –16 (darkest) to +16

 

(brightest)

 

 

CONTRAST

Adjust if the far and near position is

 

unnatural.

 

Available range: –16 to +16

 

 

SATURATION

Adjust if the picture is whitish or

 

blackish.

 

Available range: –16 (most blackish) to

 

+16 (whitest)

 

 

TINT

Adjust if the human skin color is

 

unnatural.

 

Available range: –16 to +16

 

 

SHARPNESS

Adjust if the picture is indistinct.

 

Available range: +0 to +3

 

 

Y DELAY

Adjust if the picture looks separately/

 

overlapped.

 

Available range: –2 to +2

 

 

3Press ENTER.

VFP parameters list disappears, and the following pop-up window for the selected item appears on the TV.
