TROUBLESHOOTING

NOTE: If the error still continues after doing one of the easy remedies, before taking the unit to a service dealer, try reseting the system by pressing the reset button.

General

SYMPTOM	DIAGNOSIS	REMEDY
Source Unit does	Voltage applied to Red and	Check battery, connections and fuses and
not turn on	Yellow wires is not between	repair or replace as necessary. If voltage is
	10.8 and 16 volts or there is no	above +16 volts, have the electrical system
	voltage present	inspected by an authorized car service center.
	Unit is not properly grounded	Check wiring and repair as necessary
No backlight	Detachable faceplate not	Detach faceplate and reinstall into chassis
illumination	properly connected
Speakers pop	Auto antenna and remote B+ are	Check wiring and repair as necessary. Refer to
when turning	not configured properly	“Wiring the System” section of this manual for
Source Unit		further information
On/Off
	Bad component in the signal	Check connections and bypass all
	chain	components between the source unit and the
		amplifier. Connect one component at a time to
		determine the culprit. Connect this component
		to the Blue wire and check for pops. Repair or
		replace component as necessary
Tuner fails to tune	Antenna is disconnected	Check connections and repair as necessary
any radio stations
Tuner has poor	Antenna is disconnected or not	Check connections and installation of antenna
reception	properly grounded to vehicle	and repair or replace as necessary
	Antenna cable is intermittent or	Disconnect antenna and test with known
	damaged	working antenna. If tuner works, check
		installation and repair antenna as necessary
	Antenna is wrong type for	Consult your local Authorized Rockford
	AM/FM frequencies	Fosgate Dealer for proper antenna selection
Disc will not load	Voltage applied to Red and	Check battery, connections and fuses, and
