5. Communicating Within Your Office

To cancel DND

1.Pick up the handset or press the ON/OFF key.

2.Do one of the following

To cancel DND . . .

Do . . .

For your extension

Enter the Cancel DND code (default = 720 [HK/UK] or

 

720#).

For another extension

a. Enter the Cancel DND Set by Other Phone code

 

(default = 750 [HK/UK] or 750#).

b.Dial the extension number.

3.Replace the handset or press the ON/OFF key.

USING ABSENCE MESSAGES

Absence messages appear on the display of any internal caller who calls your extension.

To assign the Absence Message

1.Lift the handset or press the ON/OFF key

2.Enter the Absence Message code (default = 729 [UK/HK] or 729#).

3.Enter the Absence Message number. (See Table 8 on page 77)

4.If desired, enter the 4-digit returning time

5.Press HOLD key.

6.Replace the handset or press the ON/OFF key.

Note: Five absence messages (0-4) are supplied with the DBS. Messages 5 to 9 have no default message text. All the messages can be changed through system programming.
