Using a pre-recorded greeting message

Operating the answering system during playback

If you erase or do not record your own greeting message, the unit plays a pre-recorded greeting asking callers to leave a message.

Resetting to a pre-recorded greeting message

If you want to use a pre-recorded greeting message once you record your own greeting message, you need to erase your own greeting message.

Listening to messages using the base unit

When new messages have been recorded:

MN on the base unit flashes.

New messageis displayed.

Press MN.

R If new messages have been recorded, the base unit plays back new messages.

R If there are no new messages, the base unit plays back all messages.

Playing back messages for the desired line(s)

Press MANSWER SELECTN repeatedly to select the desired line(s), then press MN.

*1 If pressed within the first 5 seconds of a message, the previous message is played.

Calling back (Caller ID subscribers only)

If caller information was received for the call, you can call the caller back while listening to a message.

1Press MEDITN during playback.

R To edit the number before calling back, press MEDITN repeatedly until the phone number is shown in the desired format (page 33).

2Lift the corded handset.

R The unit automatically uses the line you set in line selection mode (page 14) to call back. When the line selection mode is set to Auto, the indicated line ( or ) is used for the call. If the indicated line is already being used or you want to select the other line, press MLINE 1N or MLINE 2N, then lift the corded handset.

Press MANSWER SELECTN repeatedly to select the desired line(s), then press MERASEN 2 times.
