Maintenance Instructions

WARNING Always unplug power cord before per- forming any service on this tool.

Motor Brush Inspection and Lubrication

At approximately 100 hours of use, take or send your tool to your nearest RIDGID Authorized Service Center to be thor- oughly cleaned and inspected; worn parts replaced, when necessary; relubricate with fresh lubricant, if required; re- assemble with new brushes; and performance tested.

Any loss of power before the above maintenance check may indicate the need for immediate servicing of your tool.

DO NOT CONTINUE TO OPERATE TOOL UNDER THIS CONDITION if proper operating voltage is present. Return your tool to the Service Station for immediate service.

Saw Ventilation

Keep inlet and outlet air passages clean to insure a cool running motor. Blow out motor cooling air passages oc- casionally to help keep motor clean and free of dirt.

Machine Storage

WARNING Motor-driven equipment must be kept in- doors or well covered in rainy weather. Store the saw in a locked area that is out of reach of children and people unfamiliar with band saws. This band saw can cause se- rious injury in the hands of untrained users.

Service and Repair

WARNING

The “Maintenance Instructions” will take care of most of the service needs of this saw. Any problems not ad- dressed by this section should only be handled by an authorized RIDGID service technician.

Tool should be taken to a RIDGID Independent Auth- orized Service Center or returned to the factory. All repairs made by Ridge service facilities are warranted against defects in material and workmanship.

WARNING When servicing this saw, only identical re- placement parts should be used. Failure to follow these instructions may create a risk of electrical shock or other serious injury.
