Chapter 5. Configuration Menu

Unit Menu

The Unit menu changes the baud rate of the Control In port and the setup of the Dial Out port. The menu items are:

Menu Item

Description

 

 

Ctl Port

Sets the baud rate for communication with the PC or

 

modem.

 

Choices: 1200, 2400, 9200, 9600, and 38400 kbps

 

 

Traps

Enables or disables the transmission of trap

 

messages.

 

Choices: Enable and Disable

 

 

Access

Sets the method of connection from the ESU 120e to

 

T-Watch/SNMP.

 

Choices:

 

Direct - Used if connected directly to the PC.

 

Dial - Used when connection is through a modem.

 

The dial string is entered from T-Watch/SNMP.

 

 

Init Modem

Allows you to choose an industry standard or a

 

custom initialization string for a modem connected

 

to the control port.

 

Choices: Industry standard and Custom

 

Initialization String

 

 

Exit Term Mode

Takes the unit out of terminal mode.

 

 

IP Interface

Selects the TCP/IP physical interface; 10-Base-T

 

Ethernet or SLIP using the EIA-232 serial port.

 

Choices: 10-Base-T Ethernet or SLIP

 

If this option is set to SLIP, the EIA-232 port

 

may not be used as a terminal interface.

 

 

IP Address

This is the IP address that uniquely identifies the

 

ESU 120e on a TCP/IP network. This address is

 

composed of four decimal numbers, each in the

 

range of 0 to 255, separated by periods. This value is

 

used for either the 10BaseT Ethernet or SLIP

 

interface, depending on the IP interface setting
