CONFIGURATION OPTIONS

Page 5-5

13 — Suppress Spaces Before Pseudo Transparent Packets

If this option is set to “Yes,” any spaces or null characters in between a pseudo transparent packet and the preceding printable character will not be output to the printer. The default value is “No.” Refer to Section 11 — Transparency Modes for more information.

14 — Suppress Carriage Control Characters

If this option is set to “Yes,” all carriage control characters generated by the host (CR, LF, NL, FF) will not be output to the printer, and the ULTRA will not generate carriage control characters for MPP enforcement. Refer to Section 13 — SCS Data Streams for details. The default value is “No.”

15 — Bold Print Emulation

Determines how the ULTRA implements bold printing. The choices are:

(A)3287 printer emulation, (B) DisplayWrite 370 emulation or (C) None. The default value is (C). For more information, refer to section 12 — DisplayWrite 370 Support.

Note: To avoid unexpected formatting results, this option should be set to C (none) if any of the following are true. Refer to Section 12 — DisplayWrite

370 Support for more information:

the user or the user’s application embeds escape sequences in the data stream

the user or the user’s application embeds transparency or pseudo transparency strings in the data stream

the user embeds ULTRA commands (configuration, translate table or PFS commands) within print jobs

Option #1 — Column Width is set to 0 (infinite line length)

16 — Suppress Leading Spaces

Some applications insert leading white spaces in the data stream. If this option is set to “Yes,” all leading white space characters (nulls and spaces) at the beginning of each print request will be suppressed. The default value is “No.”
