20 — Physical Buffer Size

Determines whether the ULTRA uses a physical buffer of (A) 2K, (B) 2K with EAB, (C) 4K or (D) 4K with EAB. This parameter must match the buffer size that the host expects on the channel to which the ULTRA is attached. The default value is (C), and it is most efficient for many systems.

Note: For APL support, the user must select (B) or (D). Additional information regarding APL support can be found in Section 7 — Translate Tables and Section 13 — Coax Host Considerations.

21 — Logical Buffer Size

Determines whether the ULTRA uses a logical buffer of (A) 960 bytes,

(B)1920 bytes, (C) 2560 bytes, (D) 3440 bytes or (E) 3564 bytes. This parameter must match the contents of the log mode entry table (found on the host system). The default value is (D).
