SCOPE OF MANUAL

This manual provides general service and preventive maintenance in-

 

formation for the ANRITSU 373XXA family of Vector Network

 

Analyzer (VNA) systems. It contains procedures for:

 

￿ Testing the instrument for proper operation.

 

￿ Verifying measurement accuracy and traceability to National In-

 

stitute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

 

￿ Troubleshooting a failed instrument to the exchange subassem-

 

bly level or the subsystem requiring adjustment.

 

￿ Adjusting instrument internal sub-systems.

 

￿ Locating and replacing failed parts.

 

Throughout this manual, the terms “373XXA” and “373XXA VNA”

 

will be used interchangeably to refer to all Series 37300A Network

 

Analyzer system models, unless otherwise noted.

INTRODUCTION

This chapter of the manual provides a general description of 373XXA

 

VNA systems, system serial numbers, frequency ranges, and related

 

manuals. Also included is information about the level of maintenance cov-

 

ered in this manual, service strategy, available service facilities, and

 

static-sensitive component handling precautions. A list of recommended

 

test equipment is also provided.

IDENTIFICATION

All ANRITSU instruments are assigned a six-digit ID number, such as

 

NUMBER

“401001”. This number appears on a decal affixed to the rear panel.
