RECOMMENDED TEST

The recommended test equipment for the troubleshooting procedures pre-

EQUIPMENT

sented in this chapter is listed in Chapter 1, Table 1-1 (page 1-9).

SYSTEM DOES NOT

If the 373XXA does not power-up when connected to a source of AC power

POWER-UP

and the Power key is pressed, perform the power supply checks described

below.

WARNING

Hazardous voltages are present inside the instrument

when ac line power is connected. Turn off the instrument

and remove the line cord before removing any covers or

panels. Trouble shooting or repair procedures should only

be performed by service personnel who are fully aware of

the potential hazards.

Line Source and

Check as follows:

Interface Checks

Step 1.

Verify that the AC power source is providing stable power

at the correct line voltage.

NOTE

The 373XXA is designed to automatically

sense and operate with AC power line volt-

ages in the range of 85 - 240 VAC, with a

frequency of 48 - 63 Hz (540 VA maximum).

Step 2.

Verify that the power input cord is in good condition.

Step 3.

ensure that the system power line fuse is installed, that it

is not open, and that it is the correct value (8 A, Slow

Blow).

Power Supply Verify that the 373XXA power supply voltages are correct as follows:

Voltages Check

Step 1.

Press the 373XXA Power key off, and and disconnect the

power input cord from the 373XXA. ensure all external con-

nections to the system front and rear panel are also discon-

nected.
