Tips on transferring files

You can transfer files from your computer’s internal hard disk in the following ways:

mOver a network

You can connect your computer to a network and transfer files over the network. For information, see the networking chapter.

mOver telephone lines

If your computer is connected to a modem or has a modem installed, you can transfer files over telephone lines using an appropriate communications program. For more information, see the chapter on expanding your computer system.

mOn floppy disks

If your computer has a built-in floppy disk drive or is connected to an external floppy disk drive, you can transfer files from your computer’s internal hard disk to a floppy disk. (If your computer does not have a built-in floppy disk drive, see the chapter on expanding your computer system for instructions on connecting a disk drive.)

mOn another hard disk

If your computer is connected to another hard disk, you can transfer files from your computer’s internal hard disk to another hard disk. For instructions on connecting a hard disk, see the chapter on expanding your computer system.
