Taking a shortcut

You can choose some menu commands by using the keyboard instead of the trackball. A keyboard shortcut is a combination of keys that you press at the same time to get the same result as choosing a command from a menu. One of the keys you press is always the x key or another modifier key.

For example, instead of choosing Save from the File menu, you can hold down the x (Command) key on the keyboard while you press the S key. Pressing x-S is a keyboard shortcut equivalent to choosing Save from the File menu.

You can see the available keyboard shortcuts by pressing a menu title and looking at the commands in the menu. The keyboard shortcuts are listed next to the commands.
