Parameter

Description

 

Route Map Number

Identifies the route map

Sequence Number

Identifies the sequence within the route map. The numbers need not be consecutive.

Match List Name

Associates an access list with this sequence, as shown in the figure above.

Weight

Alters the weight used to determine the best path. This value replaces the importance

 

assigned to the route by the weight parameter in the neighbor configuration.

Origin, Set Nexthop,

These parameters modify the path attributes with the same name in the update

Set Metric, Set Local

message.

Preference, Set

 

 

Atomic Aggregate,

 

 

Set Aggregate AS

STEP SEVEN

The neighbor definition should now be changed again to include the new route map. This is done in the Neighbor Menu described in step 2.

STEP EIGHT

This last step permits aggregation of networks inside the AS to simplify routing tables. In the example in Figure 12.4, the two networks can be aggregated to form one network with the IP address/Mask of 200.50.50.0/23.
