Unix UUCP Spoofing

(Asynchronous Mode/Leased Line/Dial-Up)

The Series II Modem can be configured for use with Unix equipment which employs ACK flow control to monitor data integrity. The Modem can do "UUCP spoofing", where the modem is able to generate ACKs at the DTE interface. Data then is transmitted more time-efficiently, because the delay of waiting for data to be received then waiting for the ACK to be returned at the remote end, is eliminated. Placing DIP- Switch #4 in the DOWN position enables UUCP spoofing.
