If DEVICE is selected,
Display Message	Card Operation
FORMAT	Format a new flash memory card, HDD card or
DEVICE	optional HDD.
Exit	Exit to DEVICE OPERATION

When the display shows “FORMAT DEVICE,” press the Set button to format the installed card.

After the printer finishes formatting the card, you must exit to the “DEVICE OPERATION” menu.

✒Notes

∙When the card is formatted, data that was previously written is erased.

∙It takes ten or more seconds to format a 2-Mbyte flash memory card, HDD card or optional HDD. The larger the capacity of the device, the longer it takes to format.

When the installed flash memory card, HDD card or optional HDD is formatted:

With a formatted device installed, the display shows the following menus:

	Display Message		Card Operation
	DEVICE 1		Select Card 1.
	DEVICE 2		Select Card 2.
	DEVICE 3		Select optional HDD.
After you have selected the card, the display shows the following
messages:
Display Message		Flash Operation
EXECUTE DATA		Select the data ID and execute the selected data. This
		menu appears only when data has been saved on the card.
DEVICE LIST		Print the contents of the flash memory/ HDD card or the
		optional HDD. This menu appears only when something
		has been saved in the device.
SAVE		Save received data, macros and fonts.
DELETE		Delete items from the device.
