ISDN socket

The standardised socket for connecting ISDN devices in Deutsche Telekom’s ISDN.

LED

Light emitting diode: an electronic component for visual signalling.

MCID (Malicious Call Identification)

An ISDN feature enabling malicious callers to be identified in the telephone exchange.

ML PPP

Multilink point-to-point protocol, which bundles two B-channels to achieve a higher transfer rate.

Multiple Subscriber Number (MSN)

A multi-terminal connection can be assigned up to ten multiple subscriber numbers. These numbers enable the connected devices to be addressed (i.e. called, faxed) individually. ISDN telephones can be assigned several MSNs.

Multi-terminal connection

You can operate up to three terminals without power supplies and five additional ter- minals with their own power supplies on a multi-terminal connection. You can install a total of 12 ISDN ports, using the free ports to plug in your ISDN terminals at different locations.

MWI

Message waiting indication. There is a voice or fax message waiting in your T-NetBox.

NDIS

Network Driver Interface Specification – a driver structure developed by Microsoft enabling the connection of several PCs in a network.

NTBA

Network Termination Basic Access. This is the network terminator, a small box that converts a 2-wire line to an internal 4-wire line to the S0 port.

NTBBA

T-DSL modem. This is the network terminator for T-DSL.

Personal identification number (PIN)

You need the PIN to start the configuration mode. The default setting on delivery is 0000. We strongly recommend you to change this PIN and keep the new one in a safe, secret place, in order to prevent unauthorised persons from gaining access to the configuration mode.
