Power-Cyclingthe storage systemNote: Do not issue verify_disk_array while the SP is powering up. You must
waituntil the SP has completed the powerup cycle.
Solaris does not generally support the powering down of a storage
device while the Solaris server is running. There are, however,
occasionsw hen we recommend power-cycling a storage system as part
of service. When power-cycling a storage system, it is important to
observe the following guidelines:
If the system is booted fromthe storage system, the server must be
shut down beforethe storage system is powered down.
If the system does not boot from the storage system, it is still
importantto unmount any file systems on the storage system before
power-cycling the storage system.
EMC recommendsthat you stop all I/O, including raw I/O, before
power-cycling the storage system. However, the system will not
panic ifraw I/O occurs when the storage system is powereddown.
If there is any attempt at I/O while the storage system is off or
while it is going throughits boot sequence, the failover software
will attempt to failover.
