PressEJECT to eject the disc, and check the
discfor damage before inserting it again.

CDloading or ejecting cannot operate prop-
erly.
!Ifthe built-in CD player does not operate prop-
erly,an error message such as ERROR-11

Adjusting the volume
%UseVOLUME to adjust the sound level.
Withthe head unit, rotate VOLUME to in-
creaseor decrease the volume.
Withthe remote control, press VOLUME to in-
creaseor decrease the volume.
Turningthe unit off
%PressSOURCE and hold until the unit
turnsoff.
Protecting your unit fromtheft
Thefront panel can be detached from the
headunit and stored in the protective case
providedto discourage theft.
!Ifthe front panel is not detached fromthe
headunit within five seconds of turning off
theignition, a warning tone will sound and
thefront panel will open.
!Youcan turn off the warning tone. See
Switchingthe warning tone on page 60.
!Youcan turn off the flap auto open. See
Switchingthe flap auto open on page 61.

!Neveruse force or grip the display and the
buttonstoo tightly when removing or attach-
ing.
!Avoidsubjecting the front panel to excessive
shocks.
!Keepthe front panel out of direct sunlight and
hightemperatures.
!Afew seconds after turning the ignition
switchto on or off, the front panel automati-
callymoves. When this happens, your fingers
maybecome jammed in the panel, so keep
yourhands away from it.
!Whenremoving the front panel, be sure to
holdthe corrugated release button on the rear
ofthe front panel while pulling.

Removing the front panel

1 Pressand hold EJECT to open the front
panel.
2 Slideand remove the front panel to-
wardyou.
Takecare not to grip it too tightly or to drop it.
