Pulling the levers back fr om the neutral position will cause the respective drive
wheels to rotate in a reverse direct ion ( s pr ing tension can be f elt when moving
into reverse from neut ral).
To tur n to the lef t while back ing, move the left lever f or ward toward neut r al. To
turn to the right while backing, move the right lever f or ward toward neutral.
CAUTION
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Machine can spin ver y rapidly by positioning one lever
too much ahead of the other.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Operator m ay lose contr ol of the machine, which may
cause damage t o t he m achine or injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Use caution when making t ur ns.
Slow the machine down before mak ing sharp turns.
4.1.3 Tracking Adjustm ent Knob: Located under t he seat on the LH pump control link.
Rotating this knob allows fine tuning adjustm ent s so t hat the machine tr acks straight
with the drive levers in the f u ll forward position.
Stop machine and wait f or all moving parts to stop. Eng age park brake. Unhook
seat latch and tilt seat f or ward to gain access to the tr acking k nob. Rotate the k nob
counter-clockwise (as viewed f r om t he r ear of the m achine) to cause the machine to
track m or e to the right and clockwise to cause the machine to tr ack more to the left.
Adjust in q uar ter-tur n incr em ents until the machine t r acks straight. Check that the
machine does not creep when in neutral with the park brakes disengaged.
IMPORTANT: Do not rotat e t he knob t oo f ar, as this may cause the machine
to creep in neutral. Refer to section 5. 2. 11 f or cont rol linkage adjustment.
4.1.4 PTO Engagement Switch: Located on the right fuel tank.
Switch must be pulled out to the “ROTATE” position to engage the blades.
Switch is pushed in to the “STOP” posit ion t o stop the blades.
4.1.5 Choke Control: Locat ed on t he r ight f uel t ank.
Choke is used to aid in st arting a cold eng ine. Moving the chok e lever forward
will put the choke in the “ON” position and moving the choke lever to the rear
will put the choke in the “OFF” position. DO NO T r un a warm engine with choke
in the “ON” position.
4.1.6 Throttle Control: Located on the right f uel t ank.
Throt t le is used t o cont rol engine speed. Moving thrott le lever forward will increase
engine speed and moving t hr ot tle lever to the rear will decrease engine speed.
4.1.7 Brake Lever: Located on left side of the console. T he br ake lever engages a
parking brake on the dr ive wheels.
Pull the lever up and rearward to engage the brake.
Push the lever forward and down to disengage the brak e.
The unit m ust be t ied down and brak e engaged when transporting.
4.1.8 Ignition Switch: Located on the right fuel tank.
The ignition switch is used to start and stop the engine. T he switch has three
positions “OFF” , “ON” and “ START”. I nser t the key into switch and rot a t e
clockwise to the “ON” position.
Rotate clock wise to the next posit ion to engage t he starter ( key must be held
against spr ing pressure in this position) .
