6. WASTE DISPOSAL

6.1 MOTOR OIL DISPOSAL
Engine oil and hydraulic oil are both pollut ants to the environment. Dispose of used oil at
a certified recycling center or accor ding to your state and local regulations.
6.2 BATTERY DISPOSAL

Battery electr olyte cont ains sulfuric acid, which is
poisonous and can cause severe burns
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Swallowing electrolyte can be fatal or if it touches sk in
can cause severe burns.
HOW TO AVOI D THE HAZARD
Wear safety glasses to shield eyes, and rubber g loves
to protect skin and clothing when handling electr olyte.
Do not swallow electrolyte.
Federal law states that bat teries should not be placed in the gar bage. Management and
disposal practices must be within relevant federal, state or local laws.
If a bat tery is being replaced or if the unit containing the battery is no longer oper ating
and is being scrapped, t ake the batter y to a local cer t ified recycling center . If no local
recycling is available, return the battery to any cert ified battery reseller .
