b) Measure the leng t h of the spring. Measurement should be 2.75” (7.0 cm)
between washers (see Figure 12).
c) If adjustment is necessary, tighten the lock nut directly below the yoke and
loosen the two nuts jamm ed together below the spring. T urn the nut directly
below the washer until the correct m easur em ent is obtained. Tighten t he
two jam nuts below the spring t ogether and repeat on opposite side of unit.

5.2.7 Brake Adjustment.
a) Check for br ake link 2. 75” (7.0 cm) m easurement as described in sect ion 5.2.6.
b) Engage brake lever (lever up).
c) Measure the distance bet ween the tr union r oller and the rod collar as shown
in Figure 9A. Measurement should be 3/16” (4.8 mm) to 1/4” (6.4 m m) (See
Figure 12) . A 3/16” or 1/4” square k ey works well as a shim g auge.
d) If adj ustment is necessary, loosen t he nut directly below the yoke. Tur n the
bottom nut ( below washer) until the cor r ect measurement is obtained (See
Figure 12) turn nut clockwise to lengthen the gap (screws rod into yoke) and
turn counter - clockwise to shorten the g ap ( scr ews rod out of yoke). Tighten nut
against yoke and check opposite side of unit, r epeat if necessar y.
5.2.8 Adjust T hr ot tle Lever Tension.
a) Stop engine, wait for all moving par ts to stop, and remove key.
b) Tension in throttle lever can be adjusted by adjusting the tig ht ness of the
lever pivot bolt, which is located under the console. See Figure 13.

a) Stop engine, wait for all moving par ts to stop, and remove key.
