5.1.28 Dielectric grease is used on all blade type electr ical connect ions t o prevent
corrosion and loss of contact.

5.2 ADJUSTMENTS

IMPORTANT: Disengage PTO, shut of f engine, wait f or all moving parts to stop,
and remove key before servicing, cl eani ng or maki ng adjust ments to the unit.
5.2.1 Cutting Height Adjust m ent.
a) Stop machine and move drive levers out t o neutral lock position.
b) Disengage PTO.
c) Raise the deck lever t o t he t ransport position ( also the 4.5” (11. 4 cm )
cutting height position) . See Figure 9.
NOTE: When changing cutti ng hei ght positions, always come to a
complete stop and di sengage t he PTO.

d) Insert height adjust m ent pin into hole corresponding to desired cut t ing
height and inst all hairpin cotter. See decal on deck lift plate.
e) Move lever out of transpor t (or 4.5” ( 11. 4 cm) cutting height) posit ion and
down onto height adjustment pin to mow at selected height.
f) To transport, move lever back up t o t ransport (or 4. 5” ( 11.4 cm) cutt ing height)
position.
g) Adjust ant i-scalp rollers for Normal Operating Conditions. Place r ollers in one
of t he positions shown in Figure 10. Rollers will maintain 3/4 in. (19 mm)
clearance to the ground to m inimize gouging and r oller wear or dam age.
For Maximum Deck Flot at i on, place r ollers one hole position lower.
Rollers should mainta in 1/ 4 in. (6.4 mm) clearance to g r ound. Do Not
adjust roller s t o suppor t the deck. Be sure roller bolts and nuts are
installed with the spring disc washer between head of t he bolt and
mounting br acket.
Two types of anti- scalp roller assemblies are available. See Figure 10 to
determine which assembly has been installed on the unit. Torque
hardware as specified, or loss of r oller m ay result .
Type ATorque the 3/8 whizlock nut to 40-45 ft -lbs. (54-61 N-m)
Type BTorque the 3/8 nyloc nut t o 30- 35 ft-lbs. ( 41- 47 N-m)
Torq ue the 3/8-24x2 Gr 8 hex capscrew to 50-55 ft-lbs (68-75 N- m )
