c) Begin with either the left or right motion control lever. Move lever to the
neutral position and pull lever back until the clevis pin (on arm below pivot
shaft ) cont acts the end of the slot (just beginning to put pressure on
spring), See Figure 14.
d) Check where lever is relative to notch in console ( should be centered
allowing lever to pivot outward to the neut ral lock position).
e) If adjustment is needed, loosen t he nut against the yoke and while applying
slight r ear ward pressur e on t he motion control lever, tur n t he head of the
adjustment bolt in the appropriat e dir ection until lever is centered (k eeping
rearward pressure on t he lever will keep t he pin at the end of the slot and
allow the adjustment bolt to move the lever to the appr opr iate position).
Tight en lock nut.
f) Repeat on opposite side of unit.
5.2.11 Motion control linkag e adjustment.
WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Engine must be r unning and drive wheels must be
turning so m ot ion cont r ol adjustment can be performed.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Contact with moving parts or hot surfaces m ay cause
personal injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
Keep fingers, hands, and clothing clear of rot a t ing
components and hot sur faces.
CAUTION
POTENTIAL HAZARD
Raising t he m ower deck for service or maintenance
relying solely on mechanical or hydraulic jacks could be
dangerous.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
The mechanical or hydraulic j acks may not be enough
support or m ay malfunction allowing the unit t o fall,
which could cause injury.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD
DO NOT rely solely on mechanical or hydraulic jacks for
support. Use adequate jack st ands or equivalent
support.
a) This adjust m ent must be made with the drive wheels turning. Fir s t raise the
fr am e and block up so that drive wheels can rotate freely.
b) Remove the electrical connect ion from the seat safety switch, located directly
to the left of t he seat switch assembly beside the hydraulic oil reservoir.
Temporarily install a jumper wire across the terminals in t he connect or of
the wiring harness.
c) Run the unit at least 5 minutes with the drive levers at full forward speed to
bring hydraulic system oil up t o oper ating temperature.
d) Unhook seat lat c h and t ilt seat forward.
e) Loosen lock nuts from the ball j oints at each end of t he RH pum p control
linkag e (See Figure 14).
