4.4.2 Loading a Unit: Use extreme caution when loading unit s on trailers or trucks.
One f ull width ramp that is wide enough to extend beyond the rear t ires is
recommended inst ead of individual ramps f or each side of t he unit . The lower
rear section of the tr act or frame extends back between the rear wheels and
serves as a stop for tipping backward. Having a full width ramp provides a
surf ace for the frame m em ber s to contact if the unit star t s t o t ip backward. If it is
not possible to use one full width ramp, use enoug h individual ramps to simulate
a full width continuous ra m p.
Ramp should be long enough so that the angles between the ramp and the
ground and t he r am p and the trailer or truck do not exceed 15°. A steeper angle
may cause mower deck components to get caught as t he unit moves from ram p
to trailer or truck. St eeper angles may also cause the unit to tip backward. If
loading on or near a slope, position the trailer or truck so it is on the down side of
the slope and the ram p extends up the slope. This will minimize the ramp angle.
The tr ailer or truck should be as level as possible.
DO NOT att em pt to turn the unit while on the ramp, you may lose control and
drive off the side.
Avoid sudden acceleration when driving up a ramp and sudden deceleration when
backing down a ramp. Bot h m aneuvers can cause t he unit t o tip backward.

5. MAINTENANCE & ADJUSTMENTS

WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
While m aint enance or adjustments ar e being made,
someone could start t he engine.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Accidental start ing of t he engine could seriously injure
you or other bystanders.
HOW TO AVOID T HE HAZARD
Remove the key from the ignition switch and pull the
wire(s) off the spark plug(s) before you do any
maintenance. Also push t he wire(s) aside so it does
not accidentally contact t he spar k plug(s ) .
WARNING
POTENTIAL HAZARD
The engine can becom e very hot.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN
Touching a hot engine can cause severe burns.
HOW TO AVOID T HE HAZARD
Allow the engine to cool complet ely before service or
making repairs around the engine area.

5.1 PERIODIC MAINTENANCE

5.1.1 Check eng ine oil level:
Service Interval : Dai ly
a) Stop eng ine, wait for all moving par t s t o st op and m ake sure unit is on a
level surface.
b) Check with engine cold.
c) Clean area around dipstick. Remove dipstick and wipe oil of f. Reinsert the
dipstick. Do not scr ew into place. Rem ove the dipst ick and read the oil level.
