Transporting the notebook

Remove all data carriers (e.g. CD) from the drives.
Switch the notebook off.
Unplug the power adapter and all peripheral devices from the mains outlet.
Disconnect the power adapter cable and the data cables of all peripheral devices.
Close the LCD screen so that it locks into place.
If the device needs to be shipped, use the original packaging or other suitable packaging to
protect it from damage caused by mishandling.
To protect against damaging jolts and bumps, use a notebook carrying case to transport y our
notebook.

Protect the notebook from severe shocks and extreme temperatures (e.g. direct sunlight i n a
car).

Cleaning the notebook

Ê Switch off the notebook and all devices connected.
Ê Place the notebook on a flat surface.
Ê Close the LCD screen so that it locks into place.
Ê Unplug the power adapter from the mains outlet.
Ê Disconnect all cables connected to the notebook.
Ê Turn the notebook over.
Ê Remove the battery.
How to remove the battery is described in the section "Inserting and removing the bat tery".

Do not use any cleaning agents that contain abrasives or may corrode plastic. The us e of
improper cleaning agents can damage the markings on the keyboard and the notebook,
the paintwork of the device or the device itself.
Ensure that no liquid enters the notebook.
Wipe the casing with a dry cloth.
If particularly dirty, use a cloth that has been moistened in mild domes t i c detergent and then
carefully wrung out.
To clean the touchpad, you can use disinfectant wipes.
Wipe the LCD screen with a soft, moistened cloth.
