Chapter 4: Installing Components

To replace, add, or reseat a PCI expansion card:

1 Follow the instructions in “Preventing static electricity discharge” on page 27.

3 If you are replacing a card, disconnect any cables that are attached to the old card.

4 If you are removing a full-length card, pull back on the card retention clip that secures the end of the card.

- OR -

If you are adding a full-length card to an empty expansion slot, pull back on the card retention clip for that slot.
