Protected Port

There are two protected port groups, ports in different groups can't communicate.

In the same group, protected ports can't communicate with each other, but can communicate with unprotected ports. Unprotected ports can communicate with any ports, including protected ports

Port ID

Identify the Managed Switch interface.

 

 

 

 

 

Enable the Protected function on the selected port.

 

Protected

If the check box is not shown as

, then this port a unprotected port and it

 

 

can communicate with any ports - including protected ports

 

 

 

 

Group 1

Set the protected port to be Group 1 member.

 

 

 

 

Group 2

Set the protected port to be Group 2 member.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

NOTE: Usually, set the Uplink port or the Port that is connected to the Core switch or router to be the untagged port.
