Scanning images

1 Load your document (up to 20 pages) top down in the document tray with the printed side facing away from you. If necessary, slide the document guides to adjust them for the width of your document. The Document Assistant displays on your computer screen.

2Click Scan at the Document Assistant. The Scan Settings dialog box displays.

Click Color or Black & White to select how you want the image to be scanned

Click Text, Photo, Graphic, or Other to optimize one of these during the scan

If necessary, adjust the contrast

3Click Start Scan to begin scanning. The document displays on your computer screen as it is scanned.

4Now you can edit your image in the HP Image Viewer. Refer to “Scan Image Viewer” on page 5-5 for more information.
