3PAR Recovery Manager 4.1.0 For Microsoft Exchange 2010 User’s Guide

4.1 Configuring the Database

The system supports Microsoft Exchange 2010 files created on basic disks using the NTFS file system.

NOTE: 3PAR recommends that each mailbox or public store, (as well as log files), be allocated to separate volumes. This configuration provides the greatest flexibility when performing individual mailbox or mailbox store recovery, thus reducing the exposure to conflicts between mailbox data stores.

4.2 Recovery Manager Installation Location

By default Recovery Manager is installed in

%SystemDrive%\Program Files\3PAR\RM\Exchange.

4.3 Recovery Manager Search Path

The Recovery Manager executables are stored in the program folders directory chosen during installation. To use the command line components, the Recovery Manager directory must be added to the Windows Path variable. During installation, the search path is automatically added to the environment variable PATH.

4.4Configuring the Host Computer and the 3PAR InServ Storage Server

See the 3PAR InForm OS Concepts Guide and the 3PAR InForm OS CLI Administrator’s Manual for information about configuring the controller nodes on the InServ Storage Server to communicate with the host computer.
