5.2 Defining a NetBackup Policy

NOTE: A storage unit to store the virtual copy backups should already be set up. See the Symantec NetBackup documentation for setting up a storage unit.

1Launch the Symantec NetBackup Administration Console.

2Right-click the Policies node in the left pane to open the context menu.

3Double click New Policy... and select the Attributes tab.

4On the Attributes tab:

a Select MS-Windows-NT from the Policy type menu.

b Select the storage unit where the virtual copy backups will reside from the Policy storage unit menu.

5Select the Schedules tab and click New….

6On the Schedule-Attributes tab:

a Enter a name for the schedule in the Name box.

b Select Full Backup from the Type of backup menu.

NOTE: Select User Backup if you are using the NetBackup client interface from the machine where the Recovery Manager Agent for Exchange Server component is installed.

7Select the Start Window tab.

8Activate all the time slots by selecting from the following drop down menus:

◆Modify Day: Mon

◆Start Time: 12:00:00AM

◆End Day: Sun

◆End Time: 12:00:00AM

◆Duration (days): 7
