virtual disks needs to be replaced. In such scenarios, promote one of the virtual copies to a base volume.
NOTE: If the underlying 3PAR volume used by the datastore belongs to a 3PAR Remote Copy volume group, stop the Remote Copy volume group prior to running the datastore promote operation.
To restore a datastore by promoting a virtual copy, proceed as follows:
1Follow the instructions in 6.1 Viewing Virtual Copy Information on page 6.2. Make sure that you are in the Datastores view as you can only promote datastores.
2Click the Virtual Copies tab.
3Select the virtual copy that you wish to promote from the Virtual Copy Set list.
4Click Promote.
