1.8.2 DDR Fault Elimination

The following are the troubleshooting procedure of some typical faults:

Fault 1: Modem does not dial

Troubleshooting: when the router configuration dials DDR, if the Modem does not dial when sending data, the cause may be one of the followings:

1)Hardware

zWhether modem is connected correctly.

zWhether modem is initialized correctly.

5)Software

zIf the interface is synchronous/asynchronous, it is not set as asynchronous mode.

zThe modem in and modem out commands are not configured.

zDDR is not enabled.

zThe dialer map or dialer string corresponding to packet is not configured.

zThe dialer-group command is not configured.

zThe packet, being an uninteresting packet, does not trigger any call. The packet may be set as interesting packet with dialer-list command.

Fault 2: Modem does not receive call

Troubleshooting: the causes may be as follows:
