Configuration of GRE

z Set the encapsulation mode of tunnel interface message.

z Set the key of tunnel interface.

z Set tunnel interface to check with check sum.

z Set tunnel interface to synchronize datagram serial numbers.

3.2.2 Creating Virtual Tunnel Interface

Perform the following task in global configuration mode.

Operation Command

Create virtual tunnel interface and enter tunnel configuration mode. interface tunnel number

Cancel virtual tunnel interface. no interface tunnel

By default, no virtual tunnel interface is created. The value of “number” is an inte ger

between 0 and 4294967295. But tunnel number actually depends on interf ace sum and

memory status.

3.2.3 Setting the Source Address of Tunnel Interface

After tunnel interface is established, the source address of tunnel channe l should be

designated. The source address and destination address of tunnel interface uniquel y

identifies a channel.

Perform the following setting in tunnel interface configuration m ode.

Cancel the source address of tunnel interface. no tunnel source

3.2.4 Setting the Destination Address of Tunnel Interface

After tunnel interface is established, the destination address of tunne l channe l should

be designated. The source address and destination address of tunnel interface

uniquely identifies a channel.

Perform the following setting in tunnel interface configuration m ode.
