IBM ARTIC X.25 Interface

Co-Processor

PCI

adapter (called

PCI

co-processor adapterthroughout

this book),

with

supporting

software, enables the attachment of a PCI-bus-compatible personal computer system to an X.25 Packet-Switched Network so the personal computer system can operate as a packet terminal. Synchronous connection to the network is supported through an interface that can be configured as ebithers usingX.a21 or X.21 selectable optional cable.

The PCI co-processor adapter has its own microprocessor and memory, allowing it to perform communications functions.
