102 EN TROUBLESHOOTING
Q. Data saving fails midway through the process.
A. Before actually saving the data, conduct a data writing test with the writing program/software,
and check the results. The usable writing speed may change according to the conditions
under which the PC is used so try the following.
Change the writing speed (to a lower speed).
Proceed with hard disk maintenance. (After disk scanning, proceed with defragmentation.)
Disable the suspend/resume function so that it will no longer work.
Close the resident software and other programs.
Shut down the screen saver.
Do not perform any network connections.
Check that the hard drive still has enough free space.
Q. I’m going to save some data while keeping a number of writing software programs
installed in the PC.
A. You may not be able to save the data correctly in the following situations.
When a multiple number of writing programs are running at the same time (including the
resident writing programs).
When writing software with a different version has been installed.
Q. The data cannot be read at the highest speed.
A. You may not be able to read data on non-standard CDs at the highest speed.
Q. The data written on CD-R/RW media using this PC cannot be read on another
drive.
A. Use a Multi-Read drive.
•You may not be able to read data using some CD-ROM drives.
Data on CD-RW discs that support the Ultra Speed (High Speed) standard can be read
only on an Ultra Speed (High Speed) drive.
