Preparación luego de largos períodos sin uso

Para obtener un café expreso con el mejor sabor, prepare la cafetera expreso con agua fresca luego de un período largo sin uso. La preparación también le asegurará que los calentadores estén llenos y la cafetera expreso esté lista para funcionar.

Retire el depósito, quítele el agua vieja,

vuelva a colocarlo y llénelo con agua

fresca hasta la línea de llenado máximo.

Remoción de sarro

Los depósitos de calcio (“sarro”) provenientes del agua se acumularán en la cafetera expreso con el tiempo y esto puede afectar negativamente la calidad del expreso. Se debe quitar el sarro cada cuatro meses; las condiciones de las aguas duras locales pueden hacer necesario quitar el sarro con mayor frecuencia. Para quitar el sarro, use un agente antisarro envasado o pastillas antisarro. Estas pueden adquirirse en Internet o en tiendas especializadas de café. KitchenAid no recomienda el uso de vinagre ni soluciones en agua o remedios caseros en lugar de un producto comercial antisarro para la cafetera expreso.
