La LEICA CM permite conectar el encendido de flash de forma opcional al comienzo o final del tiempo de exposición. De esta forma es posible llevar a cabo la – muy breve – exposición de flash bien al comienzo o bien al final de la – proporcionalmente mucho mayor

– exposición de la luz existente. Sobre todo para motivos en movimiento en un entorno oscuro, que desprenden luz por sí solos o la reflejan - p. ej. vehículos – la sincronización al final tiempo de exposición a menudo proporciona un efecto natural en la fotografía. Nota: Cuando hay poca luz; es decir, cuando las velocidades de obturación están por encima de 1/60 s, la cámara debería utilizarse de forma que pueda sujetarse con tranquilidad, apoyada o sobre un trípode. Después de producirse el destello del flash, la posición de la cámara sólo debe modificarse cuando se ha producido el transporte de la película.
