4.5 Alarm functions

The Leica ASP300 is equipped with two different alarm functions:

Instrument alarm

This alarm is generated from within the Leica ASP300. The instrument alarm is generated in all alarm situations.

Remote alarm

This alarm device is installed outside of the Leica ASP300.

All alarms (all types of alarm) are forwarded to the remote dialer con- nected to the instrument, regardless of whether the local instrument alarm (type 1) is connected or disconnected.

The optional remote alarm system works via a potential-free relay. If an alarm situation occurs, the circuit is closed.

The remote alarm device connected to the instrument must be rated at less than 2 amp.

A maximum voltage of 30 V DC may be present.

Connecting a remote alarm device:

A remote alarm device can be connected to the Leica ASP300 via a 6.3 mm-diameter jack connector (optional accessory).

For details on how to connect a remote alarm device to the Leica ASP300, please contact your local Leica office or the manufacturer Leica Microsystems Nussloch directly.
