Harddiskpasswords
Twotypesofharddiskpasswordshelpprotecttheinformationstoredontheharddisk:
•Userharddiskpassword
•Masterharddiskpassword,whichrequiresauserharddiskpassword
Ifauserharddiskpasswordhasbeenset,butnomasterharddiskpasswordhasbeen,theusermustenter
theuserharddiskpasswordinordertogainaccesstolesandapplicationsontheharddisk.
Themasterpasswordcanbesetandusedonlybyasystemadministrator.Likeamasterkey,itenablesthe
administratort ogetaccesstoanyharddriveinasystem.Theadministratorsetsthemasterpassword;no
oneelseknowsit.Thentheadministratorsetsauserpasswordforeachcomput erinthenetwork,andtells
eachuserthepasswordforhisorhercomputer .Theusercanthenchangetheuserpasswordasdesired,
buttheadministratorcanstillgetaccessbyusingthemasterpassword.
Settingaharddiskpassword

2.Saveallopenles,andexitallapplications.
3.Turnyourcomputeroffandthenonagain.
